Social Network

Renaissance

What is the oldest social networking platform in the world? No dearie, it's not facebook...

Any common place that facilitates social interaction is a social networking platform. Hence it was a cafe in France in the 17th century. Believe it or not, the highlight of this cafe was not the coffee it served, but the community it fostered. Free thinking individuals often poured in, to exchange ideas, secrets and ideologies.

It is in these establishments that the future of humanity was reborn. Doomed by a time where Kings cared for nothing more than power and influence. It was in these cafes where these free thinking philosophers sat and discussed radical ideas such as science and human concepts like equality. These very establishments, served as hotbeds for resistance and revolution.

The freedom we so carelessly enjoy today was envisioned and brought to life in these small social networking platforms aka coffee shops.

When do we wake up from our narcissistic slumber?

These establishments were niche, not because it was frequented by the richest of people. The rich never left their castles and manors. It was the affluent section of commoners, the people who rose above their challenges, dared to be more than what society had destined for them.

You stand here, liberated from all the social evils your grandparents gladly accepted, because of the people that dared to sit in those cafes and say 'I am no lesser of a human than a king'.

That's what social networking platforms can do. Encourage you to discuss ideas that seem radical, ponder upon activities that the masses can't fathom. Perhaps liberate those around you from a poor thought process.

Media Interview

Our ungrateful ode to our forefathers!

It took a global scale health emergency to display the power a social network can hold. Perhaps a story you shared made someone's life easy, perhaps you saved a life without knowing it.

Just like the people sitting in those 17th century cafes will never know how much they pushed humanity along. The kings are long gone now and have been replaced by crony capitalists. The ones that serve governments so they can live in a mansion of their own (You probably work for one of these capitalists). While ensuring that their clever algorithms have you addicted to their platforms! They don't care about what happens to the masses! These algorithms and shady tactics radicalise the masses, spread misinformation and do not hold miscreants responsible. Men who openly give murder threats on social media roam free, in society and social networking platforms.

Who holds them accountable? today a man can threaten to finish your entire family and do so without any repercussions! compelling the free thinking individuals to bow down to the might of the senseless.

What good do you use your social networking platform for?
